Not yet. Hoping to fire it up sometime this weekend. Still need to fit a rad, hook up a fuel pump and carb which I don't have yet, and get the clutch working.
Any good working holly or edelbrock carbs around for sale??

Got a little done today. Got my hands on a fuel pump, clutch is working and the wiring is almost done. Just the oil pressure and fuel pump power left for wiring. Still have to make something up for the 4x4 linkage and stuff a rad in there but I'm still hoping to turn a key tomorrow. All depends on how the rad goes I guess. I'll only have a couple hours to spend on it tomorrow so we'll see. Not planning on leaving that rochester on there either. Not even sure if its any good... been sitting around a while.

are you running a thermostat in the engine? thinking i should take the one out of the jimmy to keep it running cooler ... good idea or bad?

What I done is cut the center out of the thermostat and put the rest back in to act like a restricter. That's what I did with the old engine and it would barely throw heat it ran that cool. I did the same thing a few years ago with my stock car and it made a huge difference. Seems to be better than none at all.

Yeah I used to go by that but with the new engine I would like to stay under 240 ;D
Put an aftermarket heat gage in today. New tow point on the rear, and temporarily put an old hood on to clear the rad. Amazing what you can modify with a sledge hammer.

Well... truck worked great other than the water pump keeps taking out the rad. I'll have to do something to stop the body from moving around so much on the frame. The power difference is unreal!! Was hoping to get 2nd gear out of the swap and I'm easily getting 3rd. Could probably run high range.
