Made out pretty good on the dyno. Motor made 289.8 hp at 5400 rpm and 310ft-lbs at 4000 rpm on gas.Didn't want to shut off on pump gas,to much compression.Just wanted to run on.
Then I switched it over to propane.Wasn't sure what to expect with propane(never had anything to do with a propane rig).I was quite surprised how easy it started up on the propane for the first time. And it run alot smoother on propane than gas.(Going to need a bigger cam...LOL)The motor runs smoother than my 3.8 in my grand prix. The first pull was a bit of a downer,it only made 255 hp.Started playing with the fuel and the timing, and got it up to 279.3 hp at 5500 rpm and the torque was down compared to gas 292 at 3900rpm.Not to sure why?
Anyhow I'm pretty happy with it. Think it'll pull the buggy along pretty good(better than the 1.6 that I was running)Think that I can get it up over 300hp fairly easily!!!

Those are some pretty nice numbers out of a 4.3 and pump gas. I'd be very happy. Hope to see it in action this year!!

Yes the toys are still under there.I bought a 60 here about a month ago.I forgot how heavy they were,so I sold it.I'm pretty sure the longfields can handle the motor, but the gears might be another story.Might need some of Bobby's special heat treated gears. Should have it out by the end of the month. ;D Rue

Pushed the buggy out side today,so that I could clean up a bit. It's getting close to be able to take it out for a spin now.(I'm getting tried of working on it)Was hoping for a little spin next weekend, but it's looking like it will the weekend after. Rue

Finally got it together enough to get it out for a little run.The 4.3 works alot better than the 1.6.Had to go to the pit first and climb a few hills. The motor has enough power to climb hills in high range(can catch air off of the tops of 25'+ hills if I roll in to them at about 10 mph and floor it at the base of the hill. Put it in low range and hang on!!! ;D motor got a little rumble to it got the belly pan on and the boat sides after the pit we went up to the power line to look for some rocks. There is a lot of water in the brooks now the bridge is about 2' above the water most of the year, not this weekend, and it was 3' deep on the other side(almost got my feet wet) mudmagnet upside down again I was to busy playing with the buggy that I only got one pic of it just sitting there.Next time I'll try and get some action pics. All in all the buggy works really good. With trying to keep most of the weight down low in the chassis it handles way better than the old chassis. Not to sure about the propane, one tank only last about 3 hrs and it stinks.Think I'll be bring up the rear on most runs.
