Panhard bar. Two bends to clear the pumpkin and the oil pan. The angle mirrors the drag link, and the longest we could make it was 32" (drag link is 38"). Here's the coil mounts/buckets. They'll need at least one bracing tube on the back down to the top of the frame. The shocks will mount just behind the coils. Flexed out on its own weight Just floating over the big jack stands farther back on the frame, just in case. That's just about it for the suspension mockup. Now to pull everything apart, cut all the tack welds, grind everything clean and do the finish welding. Paul

trac is tucked in nicely. 32" should be fine.
you found a spot for the shocks?

Looks good. Any more progress? Will we see it on the trails this summer?

Lots of progress being made, but little time to take pics! Hope to have it moving sometime next week.
I'll be sure to take the camera out tomorrow and do an update.

It doesn't look like we got too much done, because really its just everything fully welded. Final mock up of the suspension. The upper coil/shock mount is done with a support tube added. The lower shock mount comes off the back of the lower coil mount. Other side. Fully welded and painted. The tapered insert was welded into the steering box too. We bent the lowers ~10deg to give some breathing room by the frame. Links were then all welded. And painted. Finished lower buckets. Shock mount is just a long bolt with the head cut off, and welded all around. Frame side lower link mounts were beefed up with a plate across the top and one inside. Axle all done. Dimpled braces on the upper and panhard mount, ball gussets and steering stop braces. Hammered black All thats left in the fabrication side of things is the transmission crossmember. Then it's just all the little things that will frustrate the hell out of us. Paul

you moved the trac bar forward to the shock hoop and stands off the frame a bit more?
link welds look tits. shocks fit in there too.
awesome work man.

The panhard mount is in the same place, no room for it to move at all, very tight between the coil and the tie rod, and is as far away from the frame as possible without the steering arm hitting it.
It was the coil mount hoop that moved back, so there was room for the shock mount and the support tube. The upper coil bucket was notched so it could slide forward on the hoop.

Very nice work! You could have used a yota pitman. There the same.
I just got a sway bar on my Pathfinder last night and it drives awesome on the highway now. Its the stock bar.
3 links all the way!

Very nice work! You could have used a yota pitman. There the same. We looked into that, but the splined section on the nissan was smaller I think I read something about a change in the nissan steering box in 91 or 92, maybe the later ones will swap? Did you get a dimple die set and what size and where did you get it from? Dimple die is homemade, my own secrete recipe I just have the one size, flares a 1.5" hole to 2". So when is the shake down run? ;D Hopefully sometime next week!! Paul

Another productive day. Transmission crossmember. The original interfered with the drive shaft, and since the upper link mount wanted be be right where it bolted up, we couldn't just modify the stock xmember. The idea is the same as one that Calmini makes, but instead of using the big rubber bushing at the trans, we used bushings at the frame. Lots of room for the driveshaft. One side mounts to the back of the upper link mount, and the other we put tabs on the bottom of the stock xmember mount. Hangs down the same as the tcase, which is actually level with the bottom of the frame. Diff cleaned up and painted, and the knuckle balls polished up. We got started on the driveshaft and steering shaft too. Looking good for rolling monday! Paul
