I need some help here.. I've got a 78 Chev K10, with a SBC 305... Just replaced the plugs, and adjusted the timing a bit.. when in park or neutral it runs perfect and revs up fine, when I put it in gear, it will run good until about.. 1800rpms? then after that it sputters and wants to die, but if I left my foot off the gas it idles back down and goes perfect.. So it will only move with very little throttle.. I would like to get this fixed before the may run! which will be my first time attending! [Also how do you get there from Catalone?.. ]

did it run fine before the timing was adjusted? i would start by changing the lilttle fuel filter in the carb and go from there

Check your firing order to see if its right and than put your timing back and try it out. Sounds to me that your timing is Advanced to far and when you try to drive it you are putting a load on it and it wants to die. 305s can be a bitch to set the timing up sometimes.

Okay, I will try adjusting the timing tomorrow, if my cold lets up some. I also got my mother to pick me up a new filter today just incase.

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem to me. I'd start with the fuel filter in the carb like v8digou suggested. Make sure there aren't any other in-line filters between the tank and engine. Could also be the pump getting bad or a problem with the carb. You should also have a good look at all your fuel lines and make sure there's not a cracked line or a hole somewhere where the pump could be sucking air. Good luck and keep us posted on what you find.
I would think the best way to the run from Catalone would be to head to Marion Bridge, down Sandfield road by the Wildlife Park. Turn right on to Intervale road right across from the wildlife park and them another right on to Chapel road. At the end of Chapel road there is a trail that will take you to the power line. go left on the power line and that's where we'll be.
