At the run saterday we broke an axle climbing a steep hill when you first get on the powerline coming from the chapel Road side , the truck bounced up off a rock and when it landed the right hand side axle snapped.
the rearends are 1942 4 ton rockwells , out of a tandem diamond T army truck , after the war the truck was used to move houses and a young fella driving the truck dumped the clutch on incline with a house in tow and twisted the input shaft , so we figure the axles must of been twisted and weakend causing it to let go so easy , this is also the first time we had the truck out with the new box on it , which would add weight to the rear , it broke off flush with the spider gear. so today we removed the differential and removed the end of the axle , replaced the pot and replaced both rear axles , took it out and tested it , got a video that ill try to get up soon
