My names Michael, i have a 96 explorer with 3.73 gears, trak-lok rear, lifted 2" on 31" tires with a snorkel, so far its broke down everytime i went in the woods with it, first time was a bad battery and lastnight it worked fine then i went to turn around and nothing it just slips. i checked the tranny fluid and its way overdue for a change.
Also here's a few pics of the rear before i replaced it, the pinion bearing was gone and the gear did a number on the differential and broke a few teeth of the ring gear.
I dont know how it didnt lock up when i was takin it home, the pinion was just flopping around it was that bad.
Also i found this place because my uncle bought a blue z71 chev with a sticker on the back that said "in memory of xxx offroad" anyone know who used to own it? its got a 350, 5 speed, dual exhausts and subwoofers.

. Well seems besides a fucked tranny i also have a blown headgasket, im scrappin the truck and pickin up a f-150 swb 4x4 with a 351. If anyone needs parts for an explorer they can come take em for free, im keepin the tires and the rear.
