I have a 96 chevy with 350 in it , it is auto. It needs a flywheel or flexplate what ever you want to call it.
The junk yard gave us a flywheel out of a 01 blazer 4.3
Anyone know if it will work or not. One place says it will others says it wont.
They do look a little different.
all the searchs I have does shows up to a 98 blazer.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Hey Colin , can't tell you for sure , but if they look different I'd be cautious using it . Both will probably bolt up to the crank and the torque but one may be for an internal balance and the other may be external balance . Your engine will appreciate having the right one on it , I'd try to find a match to what came out of it .

I'll work as long as your 350 is a later model with a one piece rear seal.
I used a late model 350 wheel on my 4.3 when I dynoed it and run smooth.I would count and make sure your ring gears have the same number of teeth.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not Rue but I think the Vortec 4.3 has a counterbalance shaft in it to help with a vibration problem they had where as the pre-Vortec ones don't , both have the one piece rear seal but may have different flywheels , again though I'm not too sure .
