well.. we had to re-arch the front springs, because they weren't done right, but even now that they are done right, the front end squats when I put it in drive, and rises when I put it in reverse.. I have 4 plys in each side, got the sway bar hooked up, and made some shock brackets and hooked them up, didnt seem to fix the problem ... any suggestions to make it a little more solid?

I think a couple more ply's would help allot, or change a couple out for thicker ones... or both. Seems to me there a little too soft. If so they will also prob wrap bad and you won't be able to keep a front drive shaft under there.
I would try swapping out the longest ply for a nice thick one and maybe add one more ply to make 5 in the pac.
Does the truck have front breaks only by any chance when you tried it?... in 2 wheel drive and idling high??? ;D ;D ;D

Same shit going on with mine , not so much wrapping them but my passenger side developed a bad sag . I'm limited to the amount of plies becuase of the steering I'm running and they were just old ones I had kicking around so I'm into some spring work too . When a spring goes flat the good has been taken out of it , re-arching it is a short term fix IMO . I'd leave the mains in there and have a couple plies made for each side with a decent arch and get the ones below the mains cut so they go right out to the eyes . From the look of the pic those fronts got all kinds of crazy gaps going on in them , each ply wants to do it's own thing instead of helping each other .

TOLD YA LADDER BARS CHEERS

TOLD YA LADDER BARS CHEERS Sounds to me like its just lifting and squatting the suspension as it goes from drive to reverse. I'm betting it doesn't have back breaks yet either which would make it seem worse. Ladder bars will stop the spring wrap for sure but won't stop it from lifting and squatting. He needs to stiffen up his spring packs, there too soft. Don't forget the extra weight your going to be adding with the small block too. Even more reason to tighten it up a bit. Charles.

I tightened up the arch, so they are a lot closer now, I can't add anymore plys or make it any higher because of the steering issue, I think tigger might be right about the ladder bars, after the shocks are hooked up it seems a little better, maybe the small block and some rear brakes might help some too...

I can't add anymore plys or make it any higher because of the steering issue quote] If thats the case than I would replace a couple plys with new ones with the same arch. Just a higher rate leaf.

just have to make shafts, and find a rad to put in, some minor electrical stuff and I think I'm good to go .. hopefully everything will work good!
